ROOMS

This hotel features 250 guestrooms, all of which include L-shaped desks and two phones. A small, open archway near the door adds to the feel of spaciousness, and the combination of Mediterranean-style furniture and modern art is sophisticated. The archway isn't all for show, however—it holds a small bench for sitting, or for stashing luggage.

Capital City Market Café and Bar - Soups, sandwiches, and salads are served express-style from the counter during lunch hour in this casual café, which draws dozens of workers from nearby office buildings. The dinner menu is served tableside and includes a range of American entrées. One corner of the L-shaped space is a small bar, where smoking is allowed. Breakfast, including a Continental buffet and made-to-order items, is served just outside the café in a light-filled, 11-story atrium.

AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: Visitors to Minnesota's capital-city businesses, government agencies, and museums and theaters have access to everything from this hotel in the center of town. A softly lit lobby, with pebbled walls, modern art, and overstuffed furniture, greets guests at street level. But the pace quickens one flight up, where the hotel connects to the downtown skyway system. Amenity highlights: The third-floor pool and fitness center area is lined with windows, providing views of the city or the indoor atrium. For business guests, the hotel offers several meeting rooms, and catering and banquet services. ATMs, stores, and services are conveniently located within a block or two, in adjacent Town Square or surrounding buildings. Insider tip: Visitors can soak up the sights and sounds of the Mississippi River in fair weather with a hike to Harriet Island Regional Park, which is often the setting for outdoor concerts. Despite its name, Harriet is no longer an island, because the south channel was filled in decades ago. But it's home to several year-round houseboats, a floating restaurant, and a paddleboat-turned-theater. Guests can reach the park by heading 2 blocks west to Wabasha Street, then south across the bridge.
The hotel restaurant and bar are on the second (skyway) level, and a pool and fitness center lined with windows is on the third level. Meeting spaces distributed among the first three floors total 8,200 square feet, including a ballroom. Additional amenities available within 2 blocks in the enclosed downtown skyway system include gift shops, a beauty-barber salon, ATMs, restaurants, and a department store. Self parking: $5-15 per 24-hour period. Parking garage with in/out privileges and 7 foot clearance. Fee does not include tax and is subject to change without prior notification.
